Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules for using ImageConverter.ca and our free online image conversion tools.

Effective date: June 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of ImageConverter.ca, including our image conversion, optimization, resizing, cropping, rotation, metadata, and related image tools.

By using ImageConverter.ca, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the website or the tools.

2. Who operates ImageConverter.ca

ImageConverter.ca is operated by Kenny B Media from Ontario, Canada. In these terms, “ImageConverter.ca,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the website, its tools, and its operator. “You” and “your” refer to the person or organization accessing or using the website.

3. The service

ImageConverter.ca provides free online image tools designed to help users convert, resize, optimize, crop, rotate, adjust, and prepare image files for websites, social media, documents, apps, email, and other everyday uses.

The service is currently provided free of charge and without user registration. We may add, remove, change, suspend, or discontinue any tool, format, setting, page, or feature at any time.

4. Image processing

ImageConverter.ca is designed to provide fast and simple image processing tools. Depending on the tool, browser, file type, and feature being used, image processing may happen locally in your browser or through supported website functionality.

You are responsible for reviewing how each tool works before using it with sensitive, private, confidential, copyrighted, or business-critical images.

Because image tools can behave differently depending on file type, browser support, device memory, source image quality, and selected settings, we cannot guarantee that every image will process successfully or produce the exact result you expect.

5. Your files and ownership

Your files stay yours. These terms do not transfer ownership of your images to us. We claim no ownership rights in the images you process using ImageConverter.ca.

You are solely responsible for the images you choose to process. You represent that you have the necessary rights, permissions, or lawful basis to upload, use, modify, convert, compress, download, publish, share, or otherwise process any image you select.

You should not use ImageConverter.ca to process images that you do not have the right to use, modify, or convert.

6. Your responsibility for results

Image conversion, compression, resizing, cropping, rotation, metadata removal, and similar operations may change file quality, dimensions, colour, transparency, animation, metadata, compatibility, or other characteristics of an image.

You are responsible for reviewing the output before using it. Always keep your original files. Do not rely on ImageConverter.ca as your only copy, backup, archive, or storage system.

You are also responsible for deciding whether an output file is suitable for your intended use, including use on websites, marketplaces, social media platforms, printed materials, client work, legal documents, business records, advertising, apps, or any other purpose.

7. File formats and compatibility

ImageConverter.ca may support common image formats such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC, ICO, and other formats, depending on browser support and tool availability.

Not every format supports every feature. For example, some formats may not support transparency, animation, layers, embedded colour profiles, metadata, or certain compression methods.

Conversion results may vary depending on the original file, browser, device, operating system, selected output format, and conversion settings.

8. Metadata removal

Some tools may remove or alter metadata embedded in image files. Metadata can include camera information, timestamps, GPS location, copyright details, colour profiles, editing history, accessibility information, or provenance information.

Removing metadata may improve privacy, but it may also remove information you intended to keep. You are responsible for deciding whether metadata should be preserved or removed before using an output file.

9. Animated files and multi-frame images

Some image formats, such as GIF, WebP, and AVIF, may support animation or multiple frames. Not all tools, browsers, or conversion settings preserve animation.

When converting or optimizing animated images, the output may become static, lose frames, change timing, reduce quality, or behave differently from the original file. You are responsible for testing the output before using it.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse ImageConverter.ca. In particular, you must not:

11. No account or paid access

ImageConverter.ca currently does not require user accounts or paid subscriptions for the free online tools. If we later introduce accounts, paid services, downloadable software, API access, cloud processing, file storage, or premium features, those features may be subject to additional or updated terms.

12. Website content and intellectual property

The website, including its design, branding, text, layout, logos, code, interface elements, graphics, icons, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to ImageConverter.ca and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

13. Feedback and suggestions

If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback, you allow us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you. We may use feedback to improve ImageConverter.ca, develop new tools, fix issues, or change existing features.

14. Third-party links, ads, and services

17. No professional advice

ImageConverter.ca provides technical image tools only. The website does not provide legal, privacy, compliance, copyright, accessibility, marketing, search engine optimization, design, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for confirming that your image files and output files meet any legal, platform, client, business, accessibility, or technical requirements that apply to your intended use.

18. No warranty

ImageConverter.ca is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties, representations, or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, representations, and conditions, including warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, availability, compatibility, security, and error-free operation.

We do not guarantee that files processed using the tools will be suitable for your intended purpose, accepted by any third-party platform, free from defects, visually identical to the original, smaller than the original, higher quality than the original, or recoverable after processing.

19. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kenny B Media and ImageConverter.ca will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, opportunity, or reputation arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the website or tools.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to ImageConverter.ca will be limited to twenty Canadian dollars (CAD $20), or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In those cases, the limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

20. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kenny B Media and ImageConverter.ca from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to:

21. Suspension or blocking of access

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date or last updated date.

Your continued use of ImageConverter.ca after updated terms are posted means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, stop using the website and tools.

23. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or your use of ImageConverter.ca will be handled by the courts located in Ontario, Canada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

24. General provisions

These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the agreement between you and ImageConverter.ca regarding your use of the website and tools.

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations as part of a business transfer, reorganization, merger, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
